The Technology industry covers software, SaaS, infrastructure, consumer tech, and platform businesses. It is the highest-volume industry on the platform by a wide margin — 5,751 active exec roles at last snapshot, across every function and seniority tier.
Classification requires both a tech-oriented company and an executive role. A Marketing Director at a bank does not surface here. A Marketing Director at a SaaS company does — because the industry gate and the exec gate both pass. That conjunction is what keeps the feed signal-rich rather than noisy.
Note that FinTech is a separate category for companies at the intersection of financial services and technology. Crossover roles may appear in either Technology or FinTech depending on how the job board tagged the company. The classifier uses company domain, product vocabulary, and public filings to resolve the edge cases.

How classification gets to this category
Technology industry classification is a two-gate process:
- Stage 5 — Company enrichment. The classifier determines industry from company HQ data, product description, public filings, and the job board's own tagging. A company must have a primary technology product or platform to land in this category. Consulting firms that serve tech clients are not classified as Technology — they're Professional Services.
- Stage 4 — Executive gate. The role must clear the exec threshold independently. A 3-year-experience "Marketing Coordinator" at a tech company fails the exec gate and never appears in your inbox. Only Director-tier and above pass.

Within Technology, the VP-tier is the dominant seniority: 2,692 of 5,751 active roles. CXO-tier accounts for 271. Director-tier accounts for 2,165 — substantial supply for candidates actively seeking their first exec role or transitioning from Sr. Director.

Matching on Technology as an industry combines with every other filter multiplicatively.
Example: select Technology + VP tier + CTO/Technology role type and your inbox shows VP-tier technology leadership roles at tech companies only — not VP Sales at a tech company, not CTO roles at non-tech companies, not Director-tier engineering roles. All three filters must pass simultaneously.
If you want breadth across functions — seeing VP Engineering alongside VP Sales and VP Marketing at tech companies — select Technology + VP tier without a role-type filter. The result is every senior functional VP role across the tech industry. Add the role-type filter only when you're ready to narrow to a specific function.
